Living with the Garden

Keeping It Beautiful

Here's the short version of what the garden needs from you.

The Basics

  • Water once a week in summer if there's no rain
  • Mulch once in spring
  • Prune roses in February

Good to Know

  • Chives regrow after cutting — just cut above the ground
  • Persimmons freeze well — you'll have plenty to share
  • Steel guard on pear tree — loosen as it grows (spare under deck)
  • Bricks suppress weeds — remove to plant veggies if you like
